The Bioeconomy Outreach Centre – meeting space available to hire, York

Through the THYME project, the Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC) is able to offer up to 50 delegates a unique, flexible space to hold events or meetings which includes both ground and mezzanine floor space, kitchen facilities and free parking at our newly developed Bioeconomy Outreach Centre. The centre also includes an innovative exhibition of everyday products made from renewable materials which aims to inspire companies and provide an educational learning space for school groups and teachers.

Exploring the microbes that manage our waste

THYME took part in the Royal Society Summer Science 2021 to explore how scientific research is transforming our understanding of the processes behind AD and promises to increase its waste recycling potential. Resources for this event included an animation, AD game, a Minecraft biorefinery as well as a talk from Professor James Chong (University of York) and Dr Caroline Orr (Teesside University).
