Meeting space available to hire, York

Through the THYME project, the Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC) is able to offer up to 50 delegates a unique, flexible space to hold events, meetings or away days which includes both ground and mezzanine floor space, kitchen facilities and free parking at our newly developed Bioeconomy Outreach Centre. The centre also includes an innovative exhibition of everyday products made from renewable materials which aims to inspire companies and provide an educational learning space for school groups and teachers.

The bioeconomy is part of our everyday lives. It involves using renewable living things such as plants, animals and microbes to produce food, energy and other materials to reduce our dependency on non-renewable resources like oil and coal as well as cutting the amount of waste we produce.

The BDC is conveniently located on the outskirts of York, close to major road and rail links for easy access from most parts of the UK, making York a great place to live, visit, study, work and do business.

“The Bioeconomy Outreach Centre provided flexible and accessible meeting space, ideal for our BIOVOICES workshop, with the added advantage of BDC staff being on hand to help with logistics and enquiries. The exhibition of bio-based products, creatively displayed, prompted thought-provoking discussions over lunch – most inspiring! The ability to take a tour of the technical and production facilities at BDC provided an added value dimension, much appreciated by our participants.”

Rhonda Smith, Director of Minerva Communications, a partner in the EU-funded BIOVOICES project.
