The THYME Project provides support for academics and knowledge exchange staff from one THYME partner to spend time working with staff from another. The aim is to share best practice, drive collaboration and improve understanding of the relative capabilities of the THYME organisations.
The scheme is highly flexible. It could include, for example, placements of 1-2 days per week over a period of months, a dedicated fortnight’s work to achieve a specific project, or a 3-6 month secondment.
Possible examples include:
- A temporary job swap between university business development managers to share best practice and exchange contacts.
- Shadowing of an individual academic to learn useful techniques or acquire new skills.
- Joint working by cluster staff to organise an event.
- Hot-desking in the office of another to observe operations and share contacts.
Placements will be supported by the THYME Project, with funding available to cover travel and subsistence.
