Big Deal 2020 winners announced

THYME project judges, Alice and Penny were pleased to announce that teams from Headlands School in Bridlington and Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School from Blackburn were the winners of the Sustainability Prize at the University of York Big Deal 2020 competition. The Big Deal 2020 is a business and enterprise programme for Year 9 and 10 students, embarking them on an entrepreneurial journey to create a unique and innovative business plan for a product, business or social enterprise. Both schools win the opportunity to visit our Bioeconomy Outreach Centre.

Huge congratulations to Adil @tauheedulboys for also winning the Sustainability Award with The Big Deal @UniofYork by presenting the @TIBHSUniformity project.

Teesside University

Expertise in bioprocess engineering, data and process visualisation, artificial intelligence and machine learning combines within our National Horizons Centre, a £22m facility to grow research, knowledge exchange and skills in the bioeconomy.

University of Hull

Expertise in economic, political and legal aspects of the bioeconomy with a focus on social science themes including policy and engaging with industry on waste management.

University of York

Expertise in green chemistry; plant sciences and scale up, which their subsidiary, the Biorenewables Development Centre, combines in a business-facing open-access centre.
